<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine containing at least one double-stranded oligoribonucleotide (dsRNA) designed to inhibit the expression of a target gene. <P>SOLUTION: One strand of the dsRNA is at least in part complementary to the target gene. The target gene can be selected from the following group: a cancer gene, a cytokine gene, an Id protein gene, a developmental gene, and a prion gene. The target gene can be expressed in a pathogenic organism (especially, Plasmodium).
