PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door checking device having a case supporting a shaft rotatably, filled with viscous fluid in its internal space, and provided on either of vehicle body side and door side, having the shaft provided on the other of vehicle body side and door side and rotating in accordance with opening and closing of a door, and preventing the liquid from leaking from the case. SOLUTION: The case 4 is composed of a bottomed cylindrical case body 1 having an opened face, a lid 11 covering the opened face of the case body 1, a bottom opposing part 53 opposing to a bottom part of the case body 1, a lid opposing part 55 opposing to the lid 11, a connection part 57 connecting the bottom opposing part 53 and the lid opposing part 55 mutually, and a base 51 preventing the lid 11 from levitating from the case body 1.
