The method involves transmitting illuminating sparkle from an illuminating device (12) with a predetermined sparkle frequency. An exposure time of a camera (10) i.e. color camera, is adjusted to a value, at which a predetermined set of sparkles is detected. The sparkles or the associated exposure time are allocated to a camera signal that is measured in the camera. The exposure time of the camera is adjusted to another value, at which another predetermined set of sparkles is detected. The latter set or the associated exposure time is assigned to another signal that is measured in the camera.
