<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a difference in temperature rise due to a difference in the characteristics of a rotary electric machine in a vehicle drive controller. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle drive controller 20 includes HVECU 30, an input unit 36 to input conditions for vehicle drive control and the like, and a storage unit 40. In the storage unit 40, an output response map 42 indicating the relationship between the characteristics of a rotary electric machine 10 and the output response of the rotary electric machine 10 is stored. A characteristic of the rotary electric machine 10, for example, the heat capacity of the rotary electric machine is input from the input unit 36. A value of the output response is set according to the characteristics of the rotary electric machine 10 by the function of the output response setting module 35 of the HVECU 30.
