<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar system which achieves high distance resolution even when range grating lobes occur. <P>SOLUTION: The radar system comprises: a step & chirp signal generator 1 for generating a transmission signal in which the frequency of the pulse of a chirp signal changes step-by-step; a receiver 5 for generating a reception signal by receiving a reflected wave obtained by transmitting the transmission signal; a pulse compression weight controller 10 for generating a weight for the pulse compression of aΣsignal andΔsignal; a pulse compressor 6 for generating theΣsignal andΔsignal by performing pulse compression on the reception signal using the weight; a step frequency synthesizer 7 for performing synthesis by step frequency on each of theΣsignal andΔsignal obtained by pulse compression; a comparator 8 for comparing the levels of the absolute values of theΣsignal andΔsignal obtained by the synthesis; and a detector 9 for detecting a target distance using a signal when the level of theΣsignal is larger than the level of theΔsignal through the comparison. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
