<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance light transmission efficiency in an optical pickup device compatible with a plurality of types of optical recording media different in standard. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup device 10 emits beams from a laser diode 1 according to a plurality of types of optical recording media 20 different in standard, converts divergence angles of the beams via a common collimator lens 3, and then converges the beams on the recording media 20 via a common objective lens 7 to reproduce or record information in the optical recording media 20. The collimator lens 3 includes a liquid lens 3a, a stepping motor 9 for moving the liquid lens 3a in an optical axis direction, and the focal length of the liquid lens 3a and its position in the optical axis direction to change a numerical aperture of the collimator lens 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
