PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glossy paper for liquid ink recordings in which the absorbing and fixing of liquid ink of inkjet ink, etc. are quick and which has high glossiness and to provide its manufacturing process.

SOLUTION: The manufacturing process of this glossy paper 10 for the liquid ink recordings reacts the gellant of a gellant layer with a gelatinized agent contained in a glossy layer 1 at the time of forming the glossy layer 1 to gelatinize, thereby preventing coating composition 16a for forming the glossy layer 16 from permeating into an intermediate layer 14.
