<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To charge a plurality of batteries loaded on an electric vehicle with an AC power supply outside the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 60 turns on a system relay SR2, and relays RY1 and RY2. A boosting converter 10 rectifies AC voltage supplied through a connector 50 and power supply lines PL1 and PL4. The boosting converter 10 boosts a rectification voltage in response to a signal PWC11 from the controller 60 and outputs the boosted voltage to a power supply line PL2. A boosting converter 20 receives a voltage VH from the power supply line PL2 and outputs a voltage VL2 to a power supply line PL3 in accordance with a signal PWC2 from the controller 60. Since the system relay SR2 and the relay RY2 are both turned on, the batteries B1 and B2 are connected to the power supply line PL3 and a ground line SL in parallel.
