PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polarizing film, by which a polarizing film so excellent in durability as not to cause dynamic damage such as cracking even under severe conditions of repeated exposure to low temperature or high temperature can be obtained. SOLUTION: The method for producing a polarizing film includes: subjecting a polyvinyl alcohol-based film to dyeing treatment with a dichroic dye, boric acid treatment; and drying treatment, in order, to produce a polarizing film, wherein the drying treatment is carried out under a tension of≤2.0×10<SP>4</SP>kN/m<SP>2</SP>using a guide roll whose surface is formed of a fluororesin.
