PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent information which is not valid any more by lapse of time from being given to a user. SOLUTION: When a stock quotation information server 1 acquires updated stock quotations from a securities network 2, the server 1 instruct start of a prescribed application and transmits a message with a term of validity to a user terminal 7 through an SMS server 6 via a paging channel. When receiving the message, the user terminal 7 determines whether the message is within the term of validity and starts the instructed application among a plurality of applications stored at the user terminal 7 when the message is determined to be within the term of validity.
