<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the configuration of a variable capacitor while surely bringing a dielectric and an electrode into contact. <P>SOLUTION: The dielectric 16 is housed in a box body 15 with an opening section 22 and a main surface section 23. A conductive pin 17 is inserted into a hole penetrating the first surface section 28 and second surface section 29 of the dielectric 16 and a through-hole formed to the main surface section 23 of the box body 15 while one end section is projected outside the box body 15 from the main surface section 23 of the box body 15. A contact section 32 for a lead electrode 18 is interposed between the second surface section 29 of the dielectric 16 and the main surface section 23 of the box body 15 while terminal pieces 33 are projected to the outside from the main surface section 23 of the box body 15. A conductive elastic member 19 is fitted adjacently to the first surface section 28 of the dielectric 16. An urging member 21 bringing the second surface section 29 of the dielectric 16 and the contacting section 32 of the lead electrode 18 into contact is fitted by urging the contacting section 32 of the lead electrode 18 or the dielectric 16.
