<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-scanning type light emitting element array chip capable of reducing the number of wiring of an optical writing head. <P>SOLUTION: A reference numeral 1 denotes one unit that forms a shifting section and is composed of a thyristor 41, resistors 42, 44 and a diode 43. A reference numeral 2 denotes one unit that forms a light emitting section and is composed of a thyristor 45 and a resistor 46. A reference numeral 17 denotes a power source V<SB>GA</SB>terminal, a reference numeral 14 denotes a dataϕ<SB>S</SB>input terminal, a reference numeral 10 denotes a clock pulseϕ1 terminal, a reference numeral 11 denotes a clock pulseϕ2 terminal, a reference numeral 12 denotes a clock pulseϕ3 terminal, a reference numeral 13 denotes a clock pulseϕ4 terminal, and a reference numeral 18 denotes a GND terminal. A reference numeral 47 denotes a current limiting resistor connected to the dataϕ<SB>S</SB>input terminal 14. These pieces of wiringϕ<SB>I</SB>are divided into the wiringϕ<SB>I</SB>at a left side and the wiringϕ<SB>I</SB>at a right side.
