A rectilinear combing machine with stationary nippers and swinging detaching rollers comprises a linkage drive without cam whereby the nippers are closed, then turned in their closed position to face the circular comb and, after the rows of needles of the comb segment have passed underneath the nippers, reopened. As shown, a crank 2 rotating at constant angular speed drives through a link 3 a pivoted link 4 and a link 5 which in turn drives levers 6 and 6' operating the upper jaw Zo of the nippers ; during each revolution of the crank 2, a joint 35 moves along a locus a the part u-v of which is a circular arc about a joint 56 and corresponds to the part of the combing cycle during which the fibre material is held by the closed nipper jaws Zo and Zu positioned near the comb KK. |
