PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roof shade device for an automobile capable of opening/closing light shielding members opened/closed in different directions by a simple structure. SOLUTION: Roll shades 20, 30 are arranged below a resin translucent roof panel 10 of a roof part of the vehicle. Light shielding cloths 22, 32 are energized in the winding direction, and drawn out to shield light in regions Z1, Z2 on the resin roof panel 10. Garnishes 23, 33 are guided by pairs of guide rails 40a, 40b, 41a, 41b in the regions Z1, Z2. A looping cable 50 intersects and is stretched between the guide rails 40a, 40b and the guide rails 41a, 41b. The cable 50 is moved in the normal/reverse direction by a drive part 60.
