PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail belt for an escalator capable of easily indicating the moving direction of the handrail belt on a surface of the handrail belt, and suitable for preventing any falling accident or the like and keeping the appearance. SOLUTION: A plurality of direction indication marks 6A are provided on a surface of a handrail belt 5, and different in color from the surface. They are provided on its surface flat part and colored to indicate its moving direction.
