PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a falling preventing device with excellent safety, capable of reducing the falling distance of a user before the sliding of a main rope is inhibited and mitigating an impact load added to the user through a safety belt harness. SOLUTION: The falling preventing device includes a main rope harness for which a stopper freely turnable around a shaft is made to face the inside of a groove part for freely slidably inserting the main rope and the sliding of the main rope is made impossible when the stopper is rotated in the direction of pressurizing the main rope, and the safety belt harness whose upper end part is connected to the main rope harness and lower end part is freely detachably connectable to a safety belt worn by a user, wherein the safety belt harness is provided with a support part of a prescribed length connecting a distal end connection part connected to the main rope harness and a lower end connection part connected to the safety belt, and the support part can push up the main rope harness when the lower end connection part is elevated and also has strength for withstanding the prescribed impact load.
