The electrical drive source has a fuel cell unit (2a-2c) and a temporary memory (4) in the form of an ultra-capacitor unit that is connected in parallel with the fuel cell unit and to the drive (M1,M2). The drive source does not have a direct voltage converter. It has a controllable pre-charging circuit (6) for pre-charging the ultra-capacitor unit. An Independent claim is also included for a vehicle, especially a lift truck, with an inventive electrical drive source.
