PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with an AGC circuit having large circuit scale concerning a magnetic disk device. SOLUTION: The magnetic disk device is provided with a magnetic head 2 recording information in a magnetic disk 1, a floating quantity adjusting means performing adjustment of floating quantity by a control signal of floating quantity provided at the magnetic head 2, a storing means 7 storing the control signal of floating quantity, and a control means 6 performing control of the magnetic disk device, wherein the control means 6 previously writes a test frequency in the magnetic disk 1, reads out the written test frequency and compares it with the reference value, error signals for the compared reference value are stored in a storing means 7 for each recording position of the magnetic disk 1, when a signal from the normal magnetic disk 1 is read out, an error signal of a recording position of the storing means 7 corresponding to the read-out position is output to a floating quantity adjusting means as a control signal of the floating quantity, and amplitudes of normal read-out signals are controlled at constant.
