<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PoE power receiving device for informing a power supply device of a proper power class when the change of the power class is needed when a downstream device is connected after connected to the power supply device. <P>SOLUTION: The PoE power receiving device informs a power class corresponding to the maximum power consumption to a power supply device while no downstream device is connected (S10), and then, determines the power class of the downstream device corresponding to the PoE power classification function (S30), when one downstream device corresponding to the PoE power classification function is connected (YES in S20), and informs the power class with a larger upper limit value to the power supply device (S60), when the sum of the maximum power consumption and the upper limit value of the power class of the downstream device corresponding to the PoE power classification function is over the upper limit value of the power class corresponding to the maximum power consumption (YES in S40). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
