<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device, capable of constituting a nonplanar display face using a simple structure, by using a planar display element and which has a nonplanar display face having less distortions of image on the nonplanar display face, when an observer views it from a predetermined direction. <P>SOLUTION: A display device is provided with a display element 1, having a planar display face 10, on which a plurality of pixels 30 are arranged in a matrix form and an optical element 5, arranged in close contact with or in close proximity, to at least a partial region of the planar display face 10, and optically transmitting image light incoming from the planar display face 10 to a light-emitting face 5b. Also the light-emitting surface 5b of the optical element 5, at least has a surface which is not parallel to the planar display face 10, thereby constituting a nonplanar display face 20. The plurality of pixels 30 on the planar display face 10 do not have the same dimensions, but rather have different dimensions of the pixels 30 corresponding to the angle θ, which is formed by the planar display face 10 and the nonplanar display face 20 corresponding to the pixels 30 of the planar display face 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
