PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve HCN recovery in the production of acrylonitrile. SOLUTION: The production process of (meth)acrylonitrile comprises: a process which transfers a reactor effluent obtained at the time of ammoxidation of propylene or the like to a quench column, and makes heat draining gas contact water spray to be cooled; a process which passes the cooled reactor effluent through an absorption column from an overhead, and makes water absorb crude acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile; and a process which passes an obtained vapor stream containing HCN through a product cooler, and subsequently, a knock-out pot, wherein the improvement comprises contacting a cooled HCN product with an aqueous stream.
