PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to appropriately perform sewing to a flap cloth in which one side edge part is extended. SOLUTION: The piping sewing machine includes: a needle vertical movement mechanism 70 for switching between sewing needle and single needle drive; a pair of left and right large presser feet 41A and 41B; a flap holding mechanism 55 for holding the flap cloth F; a cloth feed mechanism 40 for transferring the large presser feet; reflection parts 41c and 41d for end part detection on the respective large presser feet; flap sensors 30 and 35 for receiving reflected light from the respective reflection parts; and sewing start position calculation means 61 for detecting a flap end part by the flap sensors and calculating the sewing start corresponding positions of the large presser feet 41A and 41B for each needle. The piping sewing machine has reverse feed control means 61 for performing reverse feed of a length longer than a passing distance and starting sewing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
