This aims to provide an end-connecting method for connecting the inner and outer fabrics of a doubly-cylindrical fabric at their two ends not by sewing the fabrics but by utilizing the interlaces of knitting yarns. A double-cylinder fabric (1) composed of two cylinder portions of an inner-cylinder portion (7) and an outer-cylinder portion (8) is knitted by using a feeder (9) for feeding the inner-cylinder portion (7) with a knitting yarn (11) and a feeder (10) positioned in front or at the back of the feeder (9) for feeding the outer-cylinder portion (8) with a knitting yarn (12). The end-connecting method repeats the following two steps in a desired combination. At one step, an interlaced portion (6) is formed at the one-end portion (13) of the double-cylinder fabric (1), by knitting the knitting yarn (12) to be transferred from the fabric of the outer-cylinder portion (8) to the feeder (10), to intersect over the knitting yarn (11) to be transferred from the fabric of the inner-cylinder portion (7) to the feeder (9), and subsequently by knitting the inner-cylinder portion (7). At the other step, the interlaced portion (6) is formed at the other-end portion (14) of the double-cylinder fabric (1), by knitting the knitting yarn (12) of the outer-cylinder portion (8), when transferred to the knitting needle of a front or back needle bed, to intersect over the knitting yarn (11) to be transferred from the fabric of the inner-cylinder portion (7) to the feeder (9), and subsequently by knitting the inner-cylinder portion (7).
|
