<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil configured so that a pair of end surfaces in the circumferential direction or an axially-bottom end surface of the outer circumferential core can be protected from rusting. <P>SOLUTION: The ignition coil 1 has a primary coil 21 and a secondary coil 22, arranged superimposed of internal and external circumferences; a center core 23, made of magnetic material and arranged in an internal circumference side of the primary coil 21 and the secondary coil 22; and a coil casing 41, which accommodates the center core 23, the primary coil 21 and the secondary coil 22. In the outer periphery of the coil casing 41, there is arranged an outer circumferential core 3, made of a magnetic material for forming a magnetic circuit together with the center core 23. The outer circumferential core 3 has a slit 32, formed of a cutout over an axially entire length. On the outer circumference of the coil casing 41, there is formed a protrusion 411, laid out within the slit 32 along the axial direction with a pair of cover members 412, formed on both sides of the protrusion 411 which is defined in the circumferential direction C, to cover a pair of end portions 33 of the outer circumferential core 3 in the circumferential direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
