PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winch for wheelchairs being miniaturized and reducing the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: This winch for wheelchairs is installed in a vehicle and pulls in a wheelchair from the outside of the vehicle to its inside using a belt. The winch is provided with a drive motor 1, a speed reducer 2 connected to the drive motor 1, a belt winder part 3 to which power is directly transmitted from an output shaft 21 of the speed reducer 2, a first control means 4 stopping the drive motor 1 when the slack of the belt 8 pulled out from the belt winder part 3 reaches a predetermined amount, and a second control means varying the rotation speed of the drive motor 1.
