PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser diode driving circuit which speeds up a current switch and reduces power consumption, and to provide a method for driving it. SOLUTION: The circuit controls a semiconductor switch by a pulse amplitude adjustment controller. During a rise time, additional plus voltage pulse or additional minus voltage pulse is provided by the circuit, and a laser diode is driven. Thereby, the current switch time is reduced.
