PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for the identification and use of diagnostic markers for the differential diagnoses of diseases and/or conditions. SOLUTION: The invention relates to methods and compositions capable of determining the presence or absence of one (and preferably plural) disease, or conditions which exhibits one or more similar or identical symptoms. Assays and assay devices, which are used for determining the disease or the conditions underlying one or more nonspecific symptoms exhibited in a clinical setting, can be constituted by using these methods and compositions.
