PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastomer (soft resin) having sufficient characteristics as a thermoplastic elastomer demonstrating an excellent performance against various anti-scratch abrasion tests. SOLUTION: Ethylene/aromatic vinyl compound/aromatic polyene copolymer is synthesized by a production method including a step of coordination polymerization followed by a step of anionic polymerization, wherein the coordination polymerization step performs copolymerization of an ethylene monomer and an aromatic polyene using a single site coordination polymerization catalyst. Next, in the anionic polymerization step, the polymerization is performed under the coexistence of this ethylene/aromatic vinyl compound/aromatic polyene copolymer and an aromatic vinyl compound monomer using an anionic polymerization initiator. The copolymer (cross-copolymer)obtained by the production method which satisfies specific conditions has an excellent anti-scratch abrasion characteristic. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
