<p>A front bearing (21) as an alternator bearing has an inner ring (22) having circumferential grooves (22b) at axially opposite ends of the outer diameter surface of the inner ring, an outer ring (23) having circumferential grooves (23b) at axially opposite ends of the inner diameter surface of the outer ring, rolling bodies (24) arranged between the inner ring (22) and the outer ring (23), and circular ring-shaped seals (26) as sealing members for sealing the gap between the inner and outer rings (22, 23). The seals (26) each have a fixed section (26c) provided on the outer periphery of the seal and fixed to the outer ring (23), a contact lip (26e) provided on the inner periphery of the seal and making contact with a side wall of a circumferential groove (22b), and a projection (26h) projecting from a wall surface of the seal (26), which wall surface faces axially inwardly of the bearing, toward the side wall of the circumferential groove (22b). Sealing performance of the alternator bearing, which supports the rotating shaft of an alternator, is not degraded by external factors such as a temperature difference and a pressure difference.</p> |
