A method for configuring transceiver states of a protecting device, includes: obtaining the role and state of the protecting device within the next superframe period; according to the role and state, configuring the state changement of the transceiver of the protecting device in the next superframe period. Also a device for configuring transceiver states of a protecting device is provided. The present invention analyses potential state changement of the transceiver in a superframe period according to the role and state of the protecting device, combines state transitions of the transceiver of the protecting device in a superframe period, andtakes one superframe period as a unit to configure states of the transceiver, so as to reduce the original language exchanges between the MAC sub-layer and the physical layer within a superframe period, and to improve the efficiency of communication protocol stacks.
