<p>An optical module is provided with a quantum dot Fabry-Perot laser. The laser has a quantum dot formed on a base layer composed of GaAs, and a cover layer which covers the quantum dot and is composed of InGaAs. The optical module uses output light from the quantum dot Fabry-Perot laser and transmits signals for 20km at a bit rate of 1.25Gb/s by means of a single mode fiber at a wavelength within a band of 1.31µm.</p> |
