摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device capable of preventing inadequate engagement of a lock-up engagement element from occurring or shock, etc., from occurring, avoiding upsizing of an electric pump and increase in electric power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: Working fluid discharged from the electric pump EP is fed into a lock-up engagement element LC of a hydraulic coupling 14 to enable the engagement of the lock-up engagement element LC. The vehicle control device includes a state detection means 35 that detects the state of one or more factors affecting the discharge performance of the electric pump EP, and a control means which executes a first control mode of permitting engagement of the lock-up engagement element LC if a predetermined first condition specifying one or more factors affecting the discharge performance of the electric pump EP is satisfied based on the detection result of the state detection means 35 and a second control mode of inhibiting engagement of the lock-up engagement element LC if the first condition is not satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
