<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system allowing prompt printing when setting the limited number of copies to a work and performing sales in work sales or the like, and allowing management of work data to be printed and the setting of the limited number of the copies when distributing the work data to area base devices. <P>SOLUTION: This printing system has: a central base device managing a total printed copy number of the work; and the area base devices each printing the work.
