<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst which exhibits excellent activity when used for decomposing/removing an organic acid such as acetic acid in exhaust gas and which is excellent in stability at high temperature, namely, in durability. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst for treating organic acid-containing exhaust gas comprises a noble metal as a catalyst component and a porous and refractory inorganic oxide and has 0.5/1 to 1/1 ratio (S2/S1) of the specific surface area (S2) of the catalyst after heat-treated for 50 hours at 800°C to that (S1) of the catalyst before the heat treatment is done under air atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
