DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHTING DEVICE AND LUMINAIRE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device controlling both a step-up chopper circuit and an inverter circuit by reducing the processing load of a digital signal processor.

SOLUTION: Only a voltage setting part 71 to set a reference waveform based on a power supply voltage waveform is integrally provided in a DSP 56 together with a dimming signal generating part 74. A chopping control part 64 which generates a switching pulse SP for controlling the switching of a field effect transistor Q1 so that a switching current IQ corresponds to the reference waveform is constituted by hardware in addition to the DSP 56. The processing load of software in the DSP 56 can be reduced, so that both the step-up chopper circuit 59 and inverter circuit 52 can be controlled without imposing a burden on the control of the inverter circuit 52.
