<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of encoding image information capable of using exactly the same display control sequence table DCSQT, and making the display control sequence table DCSQT relocatable, even when the same sub-video data 32 are displayed at a plurality of different times, and to provide a method and apparatus for reproducing the image information. <P>SOLUTION: A time stamp SPDCTS in the display control sequence table 33 is recorded at a relative time after PTS is updated (namely, after the sub-video data unit is updated).
