<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device capable of having a larger numerical aperture. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device includes a light shading film 591 on a color filter 51. Thereby, the film surface of the shading film 591 can approach a first substrate 10 side by the film thickness portion of the color filter 51. Thereby, even if light emitted from a certain organic EL element 12 enters the adjoining organic EL element 12, it is totally reflected or remains in the second substrate 50.
