PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of making correction with higher image qualities without requiring external information processing equipment to correct optical distortion. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus has an optical distortion correction database 7 holding only optical distortion correction data for discrete optical system parameters. Further, the imaging apparatus has an optical distortion correcting circuit 4 which corrects optical distortion of an image based upon the optical distortion correction data in the optical distortion correction database 7. Furthermore, the imaging apparatus has a microcomputer 6 which limits optical system parameters for the optical distortion correction by the optical distortion correcting means to optical system parameters holding the optical distortion correction data in the optical distortion correction database 7.
