PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper container having excellent surface glossiness and beautifulness, excellent workability when being formed, and barrier properties. SOLUTION: The paper container has a body member 2 formed of a laminated material provided with an unstretched polyolefin resin layer 12 on an inner face side of a paper base material 11 and a uniaxially-stretched polyolefin resin layer 13 having a glossiness of 70% or more on an outer face side thereof. Further, when forming the laminated material in a cylindrical shape with one end edge 2a of the body member overlapping the other end edge 2b, the side end edge 2a located on the inner side of the overlapped portion folds back a resin extension part 14 extending from the paper base material on the uniaxially-stretched polyolefin resin surface side; a folded-back portion is heat-bonded with the uniaxially-stretched polyolefin resin layer surface overlapping the paper base material, and heat-bonded with the non-oriented polyolefin resin layer located on the inner surface side of another side edge.
