PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat back for a vehicular seat for stably holding a user. SOLUTION: The seat back for the vehicular seat having a plate body for supporting the back side of a pad and an elastic support mechanism 4 for elastically holding the plate member for moving the plate member in a forward and backward with respect to a seat back frame. The plate body 3 includes a first plate portion 3a positioned to be proximate a scapulae of a user seated on the vehicular seat, a second plate portion 3b positioned on the lower side of the first plate portion 3a, and a third plate portion 3c positioned on the lower side of the second plate portion 3b and positioned to be proximate a kidney of the user. The widths of the first and third plate portions 3a and 3c are more narrow than the second plate portion 3b. The elastic support mechanism 4 includes a rod-shaped elastic bridge body 5 to be bridged to the frame 2 in the horizontal direction on the back of the second plate portion 3b.
