PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of grinding a rolling roll by which stand-by time before the grinding of a work roll can be remarkably shortened. SOLUTION: High temperature parts in the width direction of the work roll 19 which is drawn out of a hot-rolling mill is cooled by a cooling device 41 and also low temperature parts in the width direction are heated by heating devices 42 and, after the temperature deviation in the width direction of the work roll 19 is not larger than a prescribed value, the grinding of the work roll 19 is performed.
