PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for producing an imagawa-yaki (Japanese muffin-like pastry, stuffed with sweet redbean paste) each of which reduces the labor and time required for producing imagawa-yaki, and produces imagawa-yakis that have relatively thin and hard coating dough and a texture different from those of conventional types. SOLUTION: The method for producing imagawa-yaki includes heating both pair of baking plates 5, 7, each having at least one cylindrical dent 19; placing dough 21 into one of the dents of both baking plates, before or after heating both of the baking plates; placing ingredients 25 into the dents; placing slurry dough 23 into the dent of the other of the baking plates; baking both doughs; and mutually sealing the dents of both the baking plates which are to be sealed and make baking the dough completed.
