<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device wherein a heat insulating structure with the aid of heat insulating materials such as glass wool is eliminated to achieve a significant reduction in manufacturing cost. <P>SOLUTION: The periphery of the inlet end of a mixing pipe 9B is covered at a necessary interval, and the outlet end of a gas collecting chamber 9A is connected to the inlet end of the mixing pipe 9B to close the opening end of the inlet end. An opening 12 is formed on the side close to the outlet of a particulate filter 5 in the inlet end of the mixing pipe 9B. A gas guiding path 13 is formed of guide fins 16a, 16b, 16c in the gas collecting chamber 9A in order to tangentially guide to the opening 12 the whole exhaust gas 3 discharged from the outlet of the particulate filter 5. On the periphery of the inlet end of the mixing pipe 9B in the gas collection chamber 9A, a surplus space is secured in isolation from the gas guiding path 13 to provide a heat insulating chamber 18. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
