PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly reflect a running intention of a driver in the running behavior of a vehicle while improving the fuel economy of the vehicle. SOLUTION: A running control device 10 for vehicle is provided with an accelerator pedal sensor 32 for detecting accelerator pedal opening degree AP; a vehicle speed sensor 31 for detecting a vehicle speed V, a slope sensor 34 for detecting the slope Slope of a running route; a cruse running determination part for determining whether the cruise running is executed or not; and a cruise control switching determination part for determining whether to select constant vehicle speed cruise for maintaining a nearly constant vehicle speed V or constant driving force cruise for maintaining a nearly constant driving force. During the cruise running, when the vehicle is running on a downhill at a vehicle speed V slower than a prescribed speed (for example, highest fuel economy speed Vbest), or when the vehicle is running on an uphill at the vehicle speed V faster than the prescribed speed (for example, highest fuel economy speed Vbest), the constant driving force cruise is selected.
