PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver which operates so as not to miss a television program under viewing when an earthquake or the like occurs while the television program is viewed. SOLUTION: A television receiver includes: a broadcast receiving means for receiving television broadcast; an additional information acquiring means for acquiring additional information added to image information and audio information; an emergency earthquake quick report detecting means for detecting an emergency earthquake quick report contained in the additional information acquired by the additional information acquiring means; and a video-recording instructing means which instructs the start of video recording of a television program under viewing when the emergency earthquake quick report is detected by the emergency earthquake quick report detecting means.
