PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-absorbing sheet for fresh food, properly enabling thawing fresh food, contributing to improvement in the storable duration of the fresh food and to production at low cost. SOLUTION: This water-absorbing sheet is formed by enclosing contents which are obtained by mixing water-absorbing resin 1 with powdery Japanese horseradish 2, in the inside of a bag body 3 with water permeability. It is preferable that, as the content substance, 100 pts.wt. of the water-absorbing resin 1 and 0.005-20 pts.wt. of the powdery Japanese horseradish 2 be included, and the content substance be formed into divided types that divide the content into a plurality of parts and enclosed in the inside of the bag body 3.
