PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the same high resolution of a moving image as in a still image by removing side lobe influences in an ultrasonic composite imaging. SOLUTION: In a non-stage beam transmission system, many reception beams corresponding to a transmission beam is each grouped into those with an increase trend and with a decrease trend. Autocorrelation is given by these groups, and weight values are each applied to the autocorrelation values of these groups and summed up. An average phase is determined according to the summing result, and then used to determine an average speed. The movements of a subject are compensated for based on the average speed. In the non-stage system, lots of scan lines are set up, indexes are defined for them in sequence, and the order of transmission beams is set up according to the non-sequential transmission system, where index increases and decreases are repeated, for the transmission of beams in this order.
