A face mask (8) for protecting a wearer's face, in particular eyes, during, e.g. hair washing or hair dressing, comprises an eye-protecting shield (10) made essentially from a plastics material. The shield is dimensioned to cover at least the eye portions of a human wearer, and includes an adhesive (11) attached to the eye-protecting shield for providing a substantially watertight and releasable sealing engagement between a portion of a perimeter of the face mask and a portion of the skin of the wearer's face. The eye-protecting shield is preferably made from one single piece of material, with the adhesive being attached to a surface of the single-piece eye-protecting shield. The adhesive may be capable of adhering to wet and/or substantially dry skin, and it may be resealable. |
