PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic sheathing material in which materials of a periphery and an inside part are uniform and which has an excellent freezing resistance and crack resistance. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the ceramic sheathing material comprises the steps of prepressing parts A and B of a plate to be contacted with its periphery when a papermaking mat 11 obtained by papermaking a slurry of a stock mixture containing a hydraulic inorganic material and a reinforcing fiber is cut in a predetermined product shape, reducing a water content of this part to a lower content than that of its inside part, then primarily pressing to transfer a moisture of the inside part to prepressed parts A and B to make the water content of the entire mat uniform, then curing and hardening the mat. |
