The present invention relates to a pentafluorobutane composition which comprises 100 parts by weight of 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane and 0.01 - 10 parts by weight of at least one stabilizer selected among the following (A) to (D): (A) 3,4-epoxycyclohexenylmethyl 3',4'-epoxycyclohexenecarboxylate; (B) µ-caprolactone-modified 3,4-epoxycyclohexylmethyl 3',4'-epoxycyclohexanecarboxylate; (C) vinylcyclohexene monoxide; and (D) 1,2:8,9-diepoxylimonene.
